Escape to Hemingway House, a bright and coastal townhome in Port Aransas where the long covered porch overlooking the pool quickly becomes everyone’s favorite “room” in the house. With rocking chairs, an outdoor dining table, and cooling ceiling fans, it’s the perfect spot for slow morning coffee, afternoon snacks between swims, and evening drinks while you keep an eye on the action below. Located in the popular Pirate’s Bay community and all on one level, this welcoming retreat comfortably sleeps up to 8 guests and makes it easy for families and groups to relax together. Inside, the open-concept living, dining, and kitchen area features vaulted white shiplap ceilings, a large sectional sofa, colorful artwork, and a flat-screen TV, creating a cheerful space to unwind after a day in the sun. The fully equipped kitchen offers stainless steel appliances, long quartz-style counters, and a breakfast bar with seating, while the adjacent dining table is ideal for family meals or game night.
The sleeping layout is thoughtfully designed for both comfort and flexibility. The primary bedroom includes a king bed, a convenient work-from-home space, and an ensuite bathroom with a spa-like garden tub and separate walk-in shower for a private retreat. It also features a smart TV with cable, perfect for winding down at the end of the day. The second bedroom offers a comfortable queen bed with its own full ensuite bathroom and a smart TV with cable as well. The third bedroom, located off the shared hallway between the queen room and the bunk room, features a twin-over-full bunk with built-in stairs that kids and teens will love, plus a Roku TV for streaming their favorite shows. Just off the main living area, a cozy hallway nook holds an additional twin-over-twin bunk with a curtain for extra privacy, giving larger groups plenty of options. In total, Hemingway House offers three full bathrooms, so guests have ample space to get ready for beach days and evenings out. With in-home laundry, central air conditioning, parking at your front door, and Port A’s beaches, shops, and restaurants just a short drive away—including easy drive-to access to Port Aransas Beach and I.B. Magee Beach Park in about 5–10 minutes—this home is set up for easy, low-stress getaways.

Guest Access
We offer convenient keyless door codes for self-check-in. Starkey Properties by Portoro uses smart locks with check-in details provided 48 hours prior to arrival by email and text message.
• Early check-ins or late check-outs: If the property happens to be ready earlier than the standard 4 pm check-in time on the day of your arrival, in most cases an early arrival option may be available when confirmed with the main office. Late check-outs must be confirmed with main office staff prior to the date of departure.
City of Port Aransas - Beach Parking Permit Information:
To park along the beaches in the City of Port Aransas, a $12.00 permit is required. This applies to the area from Marker (0) to Marker (62). Beach parking stickers can be purchased at City Hall, the Chamber of Commerce, local grocery and convenience stores, as well as various vendors and businesses in town and on the beach. Free parking areas are available between the Jetties and Horace Caldwell Pier, as well as between Markers 52-58.
Please note: This residence is not located in an area where golf carts can be used to access the bay side of Highway 361. Local laws strictly prohibit crossing Highway 361 by golf cart, and violators may be subject to fines.

Getting around Port Aransas is truly part of the vacation experience, and the island’s laid-back vibe makes exploring both fun and easy. Embrace the local lifestyle by hopping in a golf cart—the preferred mode of transportation for both residents and visitors. Golf carts are perfect for cruising between the beach, shops, and restaurants, letting you soak up the sun and salty breeze as you go. If you’re looking for a bit more adventure and want to stay active, renting a bicycle is a great option. Pedal through the colorful streets at your own pace, discovering hidden gems and scenic spots that you might otherwise miss.
For those who enjoy taking it slow, Port Aransas is also a wonderful place to explore on foot. Stroll along the sandy shoreline, pop into unique boutiques, and savor local cuisine at your leisure. And don’t forget the iconic ferry ride—not just a convenient way to get around, but a memorable experience in itself. The ferry offers breathtaking views of the bay and, if you’re lucky, a chance to spot dolphins playing in the waves. However you choose to get around, Port Aransas makes every journey feel relaxed, scenic, and unmistakably island-inspired.

- All guests staying at one of our Starkey Properties by Portoro are required to sign (esignature) a rental agreement and complete identity registration.
- Age restrictions apply. Reservation holder must be 25 years of age.
- All guests must be included on the guest list and not exceed the maximum number stated on the listing.
- Upon arrival, we aim to ensure your safety, proper access to the home, and guest features. ALL guests are required to read the house manual upon arrival. Should you have any questions, please don't hesitate to reach out to Starkey Properties by Portoro.
- Known damages incurred during your stay must be reported to the property manager immediately.
- Before check in, we will send you detailed directions to ensure a seamless arrival.
- Check-in time is 4:00 p.m. Check-out time is 11:00 a.m.
- We cannot guarantee early check ins or late checkouts. When it is possible to check in early or check out late, there will be a fee for anything outside of a one hour window within our standard times. If your need for an early check in or late check out is great, your best option is to book an additional night.
- Some homes offer pools/hot tubs. There is no guard around the water features when available. Use at your own risk.
- Some homes have cameras for external monitoring only.
- Stays over 29 days – please inquire separately for terms and conditions.
- HOTEL TAX COLLECTION: Both the City of Port Aransas and the State of Texas requires all hotel and vacation rental hosts to collect hotel tax. We collect these two taxes within the booking transaction. The state requires 6% and the city requires 11%.
- LONG-TERM STAYS: (Snowbird, long-term rental, winter Texas, winter Texan). Contact Starkey by Portoro to discuss if a long-term stay discount applies to this listing. Stays over 29 days are waived from paying the State and Local Hotel Tax. However, there are additional fees we need to collect for damage coverage and housekeeping. In compliance with our policies for long-term stays, we need to collect an additional cleaning fee for guests staying longer than 3 weeks. Your Guest Ambassador will coordinate the cleaning schedule for a minimum of once every 2 weeks. You can request cleanings more frequently if desired. Additional cleaning charges will be sent using a payment request or resolution request, immediately following the cleaning. Your guest ambassador will reply shortly and be available to assist you where needed.
- This is a No Pets property. A daily rate fee of $150.00 will apply for violations and you may be asked to vacate the premises with no refund at the discretion of the Host.
- This is a No Smoking property. Penalty fees for violations will apply and you may be asked to vacate the premises with no refund at the discretion of the Host.
- For the safety of guests and the home, there are noise monitoring devices. These devices only measure the decibel level and do NOT record any audio.

I absolutely loved this stay. The home was very comfortable and extremely clean, and the location right next to the pool was perfect. The parking was easy and convenient, and everything about the house was well kept and beautiful. It also wasn’t too far from the beach, which made the trip even better. The bathrooms and showers were great, and I even loved the McCafé coffee that was provided. Overall, everything about this stay was amazing, and I would definitely come back again!
