Getting Around
Santa Rosa Beach is a great home base for exploring Walton County’s 30A corridor, with a mix of walkable pockets and easy access to nearby beach towns by bike or car. Many guests love using the Timpoochee Trail (30A’s bike path) for scenic rides, while a vehicle is helpful for grocery runs, beach hopping, and day trips across South Walton. Traveling to/around the area - Explore by foot, by bike, or by car: • A car is recommended for exploring beyond the immediate 30A corridor, as rideshares and taxis can be limited and wait times can vary. • Biking is one of the best ways to experience 30A—use the Timpoochee Trail to reach nearby beaches, dining, and shopping areas safely and enjoyably. • Walking works well in local centers and beach access areas, but plan to drive for larger grocery runs and farther excursions. • Bike rentals are widely available along 30A if you want extra bikes for your group—helmets are recommended, and the paths can get busy during peak season. Airports: • Northwest Florida Beaches International (ECP) [FL] • Destin-Fort Walton Beach Airport (VPS) [FL] • Pensacola International Airport (PNS) [FL] Popular Landmarks: • Grayton Beach State Park • Seaside, FL • Gulf Place • Eden Gardens State Park • Point Washington State Forest • Baytowne Wharf (Sandestin)
