The Catskills Waterfall House is conveniently located just a short drive from Hunter and Tannersville, where you can explore local shops, restaurants, and cultural events throughout the year. There is limited public transportation and car services near the house so we strongly recommend bringing or renting a car. We offer convenient door codes for self-check-in. Portoro Homes uses convenient keyless entry for self check-in, details provided 2 weeks (or less) prior to arrival by email and text message. • Early check-ins or late check-outs: If the property happens to be ready earlier than the standard 4 pm check-in time on the day of your arrival, in most cases an early arrival option may be available when confirmed with the main office. Late check-outs must be confirmed with main office staff prior to the date of departure.

Well-maintained mountain roads make it easy to travel between ski slopes, hiking trails, and the friendly villages that dot the region. With little traffic and plenty of free parking, you can focus on taking in the dramatic scenery and making spontaneous stops at local cafés or scenic viewpoints. Route 23A is a highlight, offering breathtaking vistas as it winds through Kaaterskill Clove and up into the heart of the mountains. Cell service can be patchy in remote spots, so having offline maps is helpful. With your own car, you have the freedom to explore at your own pace and make the most of everything Hunter and the Catskills have to offer. Non compliance could result in sizable fines. - All guests staying at a Portoro Homes are required to sign (esignature) a rental agreement and complete identity registration. - Age restrictions apply. Reservation holder must be 25 years of age. - No Parties or Events. - Quiet Hours observed, 10:00pm - 8:00am. - Upon arrival, we aim to ensure your safety, proper access to the home, and guest features. Should you have any questions, please don't hesitate to reach out to Portoro Homes directly. - Known damages incurred during your stay must be reported to the property manager immediately. - Before check in, we will send you detailed directions to ensure a seamless arrival. - Check-in time is 4:00 p.m. Check-out time is 11:00 a.m. - We cannot guarantee early check ins or late checkouts, fee typically applies. When it is possible to check in early or check out late, there will be a fee for anything outside of a one hour window within our standard times. If your need for an early check in or late check out is great, your best option is to book an additional night. - Some homes have cameras for external monitoring only. - Some homes have pools and hot tubs. There is no guard around the water features. - Use at your own risk. - Wildlife in the Catskills - we are situated in the middle of the most beautiful areas of the Catskills and nature abounds! You will likely see wildlife during your stay. You may see deer, turkeys, groundhogs, foxes, etc. Please note that we are in bear country. It is very important to discard of all garbage in the secure bear-proof bin (warmer months) or garbage can (winter). -- For homes that include/offer BBQs, all food items should be brought inside and BBQs scraped clean after use to avoid having unwanted visitors. Bears are generally very timid but they make a terrible mess! - The house is regularly treated for pests but being that we are in the country, it would not be unusual to have an insect or mouse make an appearance inside. - In the State of New York, and Greene County, all hotel and vacation rental hosts are required to collect hotel tax. We collect these taxes within the booking transaction. - This is a No Pets property. A daily rate fee of $150.00 will apply for violations and you may be asked to vacate the premises with no refund at the discretion of the Host. - This is a No Smoking property. Penalty fees for violations will apply and you may be asked to vacate the premises with no refund at the discretion of the Host.

We really enjoyed this house! 5 people across 4 great sized bedrooms and we had 2 massive living areas. Loved the waterfall on property as well and enjoyed visiting Hunter. Kitchen had most of everything we wanted for cooking so that was ideal as well. Super responsive hosts! Would recommend this house 100%

We had a great weekend here! The house is really comfortable and well-equipped. A couple of things could use some attention—like the projector's sound system—but nothing major. It snowed all weekend, and we loved cozying up by the fireplace! Make sure to have the wifi password on hand before getting to the house because there’s no coverage there.

Our stay at this lovely house in Elka Park was absolutely amazing! From the moment we arrived, the hosts made us feel right at home with their kindness and attention to detail. Feedback and Recommendations for Our Recent Stay Dear Management, We're currently on our way back to Syracuse on I-90. I followed the departure instructions, but due to our packed VW GTS, I couldn't open the trash bin. Instead, I placed the trash in the blue recycle bin. I wanted to express my appreciation for the wonderful stay at your VRBO home. I highly recommend it and have already posted a glowing review on my Facebook page. However, I did want to provide some feedback. My partner, Alessandro, isn't an outdoorsy person and spent most of his time reading. He suggested a few additions to make the stay more enjoyable for book lovers and musicians: A reading light A TV Acoustic guitar strings (the B string on the guitar is currently broken) Guitar straps A variety of guitar picks A mouth tuner or a phone app to tune instruments An electric piano I was able to stream football games on my iPad using Apple TV. It's worth noting that a 4x4 vehicle is highly recommended for navigating the area. I also wanted to express my gratitude to Josh, who was extremely helpful during our stay. He took me grocery shopping on Saturday and even helped get our car out of a snowbank. He's a great asset to your team, and I appreciated his kindness and hospitality. I tipped him $100 for his troubles. Thank you again for the wonderful stay. I'm looking forward to renting again in the future with girl friends that are outdoorsy. . Summer’s place was wonderful! We had a group of 5 and found it to be more than enough space and very comfortable. We cooked a few nights and had all of the amenities and even some spices. We only wish we could have stayed longer!

We had a wonderful 4 days at this property. Was the perfect weekend get away all the amazing windows made it feel like you were living in the trees and the waterfall was an amazing place to have your morning coffee. Also the projector on the lower level was great to curl up and watch movies!

The house is beautifully decorated, very clean and matched the pictures online. The property is lovely and the waterfall is a real gem. The only issue we had was the lack of air conditioning as it was extremely hot in the house. Although it states no air conditioning, it was not a comfortable stay due the weather. There were a few fans but no ceiling fans as I would expect a home to have especially due to the lack of a/c. In addition, the main bedrooms on the upper floor do not have screens which did not allow for us to be able to open the windows comfortably in order to allow for cross ventilation. When we did open them, the house cooled off a bit but got very buggy. Other than the temperature issue, which is a summer related issue, it is a beautiful house to stay in and we are looking forward to coming back! The Summer team was extremely responsive when we called to deal with the lack of a/c, although the actual problem was not solved. They did compensate us for the inconvenience.

We had an amazing long weekend here! The house is very private and a bit secluded, so it’s great for a getaway. We went on a nice hike a few minutes’ drive away and also spent a day at Hudson, one of the many cute towns within ~45 minutes drive away. The kitchen was great as well - we brought groceries and cooked every meal. The hosts were also super communicative and responsive. Two things I wished we had been prepared for:1. there is only 1 shower, as far as we could tell. the bathtub upstairs is beautiful but having only 1 shower for 8 people required a bit of coordination.2. there does not appear to be AC (there is heat for when it’s cold). the downstairs is pretty comfortable, but upstairs it would get pretty humid and warmI’m sure we would have seen that if we looked closer at the listing, so not their fault at all. Despite that, we had a great time and would definitely come back / highly recommend!

If you are looking for a quiet and peaceful get away in the woods with wonderful touches of luxury this might be the place for you. Large house, nicely tucked in the woods, with views of forest all around was an ideal weekend get away from everything. The kitchen, well stocked with utensils, pots, pans dinnerware had everything needed to prepare a meal. Fireplace had plenty of logs, was easy to operate, and added to this woodsy vibe. Huge jet tub and luxury bed linens and bed were wonderful to look forward to at the end of each day. The house was clean, comfortable, and welcoming. Decorated with classic as well as local furniture and accessories a fun eclectic assortment. Oh, and the retro record player and records just added to the overall charm and enjoyment of the house. Although tucked away in the wood’s local country towns, in all their delights were an easy 15-30 mins ride.

We enjoyed our stay in Elka Park. The waterfalls and rivers were welcome in the unprecedented heat and kept us cool! Wandered over to Woodstock ( 20 minutes away) and basked in the tribute to the music. Plenty to keep everyone happy. Close to groceries and restaurants as well.
